Construction of Orifice Plate
Flow measurement using an orifice is one of the most common methods for measuring flow in the industry.
In this method, a metal plate is placed in the fluid flow path (vertically and between two flanges).
A differential pressure proportional to the flow rate is created, which is measured by a differential pressure transmitter and converted to flow using a coefficient (depending on the process conditions).

معمولترين نوع اريفيس پلیت A flat metal plate with a concentric hole in the center is used. When the fluid passes through it, the reduced cross-sectional area causes the fluid velocity to increase and the pressure to decrease.
The advantages of an orifice flow meter include low cost, simple mechanism, no rotating parts, low maintenance costs, and independence from the type of fluid (liquid, gas, or steam).

The following information is required when ordering an orifice plate.
1- Type of fluid, density, temperature, pressure, and flow rate to determine the BORE (internal hole diameter) parameter.
2- Line size and flange pressure class (based on design and operating pressure) to determine the diameter and thickness of the orifice plate.
3- Material of the orifice plate, determined based on the type of fluid.
