Check Valve :
In check valves, the fluid can flow in only one direction. If the flow direction reverses, the valve closes completely. These valves do not have an actuator or handwheel, and the opening and closing occurs automatically based on the fluid flow direction.

Check valves are used in processes where the backflow of fluid in the undesired direction is likely, which could disrupt system operation.

One of the most important applications of check valves is installing them before a pump to prevent backflow of fluid after the pump is turned off.
An important concept in check valves is the cracking pressure, which is the minimum upstream pressure required to open the valve and allow fluid to flow in the intended direction.
