A transmitter in the field of instrumentation refers to a device that converts a physical parameter such as pressure, temperature, flow, fluid flow, humidity, velocity, material level, weight, etc., into a standard signal such as 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 volts, and has the capability to transmit the signal in a two-wire or power loop configuration.
Pressure Transmitter Operation
The pressure transmitter is one of the most accurate and widely used devices for pressure measurement in industry. It is used to measure the pressure of liquids, gases, and many other substances. These transmitters essentially convert one physical quantity into another. In a pressure transmitter, a signal is generated based on the environmental pressure applied to the device, which is then processed by a processor and converted into an electrical quantity, displayed on the indicator screen.
When purchasing a pressure transmitter, consider the pressure type (positive or negative), measurement accuracy, output type, and the range and measuring limits of the device.

Pressure Transmitter Installation Location
The installation location of transmitters is on pipes and tanks throughout the area at measurement points. In general, transmitters are composed of three main parts: an amplifier, a converter (transducer), and a sensor. Transmitters are produced in two types: pneumatic and electrical.
Pressure sensors, pressure transducers, pressure gauges, piezometers, and manometers are also referred to as such.
The first type measures pressures in the milliampere range, while the second type measures pressures in the volt and millivolt ranges.
