Level Switch

A level switch, or level control device, is used to monitor and control the level of materials in tanks. These devices typically use simple mechanical mechanisms. Depending on the type of material in the tank—liquid or powdered—different models can be used, such as electrode-type or paddle-type level switches.

The primary mechanism of a level switch is to determine the fluid level and control the switching of the output at a set point. When selecting a level switch, several factors should be considered, including the tank material, the presence or absence of a lid, the fluid pressure, the type of fluid (whether neutral, acidic, or alkaline), and the corrosiveness of the fluid if it is acidic.

Many examples of these level switches and liquid level control devices are used even in everyday life, such as in vehicle fuel tank level indicators and water cooler level switches.
