One of the most important parameters measured in industrial units is pressure. When selecting the type of instrumentation equipment, one of the key questions is usually the system pressure and, consequently, the maximum pressure it can withstand.

Therefore, there is always a need for equipment that can monitor the system pressure according to environmental conditions and relevant standards, and operate accordingly.
A pressure gauge, which utilizes a Bourdon tube, diaphragm, or in some cases a bellows element, measures pressure by converting the deformation of the sensing element caused by pressure into the movement of a pointer on a calibrated dial. This mechanism allows it to accurately measure pressure over a wide range, even up to 1000 bar.
A pressure sensor generally measures the pressure of a gas or liquid. Pressure is defined as the force required to prevent the fluid from expanding and is usually expressed as force per unit area. A pressure sensor typically functions as a transducer, producing a signal proportional to the applied pressure.
For this purpose, an electrical signal can be considered. Pressure sensors are used daily for controlling and monitoring thousands of applications. They can also be used indirectly to measure other variables.

A condition in which the gauge does not read zero when exposed to atmospheric pressure.:
In this case, the gauge can be adjusted so that it reads zero at atmospheric pressure.
Another method is to record the reading of the pressure gauge when it is at atmospheric pressure—for example, -5. The ultimate vacuum is then determined when the gauge decreases from this initial value by the actual atmospheric pressure.
For example, at an atmospheric pressure of 871 millibar, a reading of -876 millibar on the gauge represents the ultimate vacuum. This is calculated as: -876 = 871 – 5.
