Types of Transmitters
Transmitters are available in two types: electronic and pneumatic. Both types send a standard signal that can be interpreted by devices within the control loop. In electronic transmitters, a 4–20 mA current signal is sent, while pneumatic transmitters send an air pressure signal of 3–15 PSI to electronic or pneumatic controllers.
