Fieldbus and HART Protocols
HART Protocol
It is an industrial communication protocol used for connecting various components such as sensors, controllers, and other parts of industrial automation systems. In this communication structure, digital data is modulated onto analog signals. The HART protocol, which stands for Highway Addressable Remote Transducer, is based on the Bell 202 Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) standard for communication.

Foundation Fieldbus technology is a fully digital, serial, and bidirectional communication system that connects field-level devices such as sensors, actuators, and controllers. In fact, Fieldbus is a local area network (LAN) for instrumentation devices used in process control and manufacturing automation. This network offers high capabilities for distributing control operations among all field devices.
Field devices in Foundation Fieldbus technology form the lowest level in the industrial unit network hierarchy. Instrumentation devices (sensors, actuators, and controllers) communicate with each other within LAN networks to perform control operations for each process. The collection of all these local networks constitutes the plant-wide network, which is used for comprehensive monitoring of all processes within a plant.
