Threaded Connection Safety Valves
Safety valves are pressure-operated devices. When the pressure exceeds a specified limit, the valve opens to release the material and bring the system back to normal pressure.
These valves operate in two ways:
1. Spring Mechanism:
These valves provide the best protection for pressure vessels. A properly sized spring is installed on the valve disc, and an adjustment nut is placed on top of the spring. By adjusting this nut, the pressure on the valve disc can be increased or decreased to maintain the desired safe pressure level in the vessel.
2. Weight-Loaded Safety Valves
These valves maintain the pressure within the vessel at an allowable level by the force applied to the valve disc.
Threaded connection safety valves are used for controlling low to medium mass flow rates. They feature a compact, lightweight design and are available in two types:
