Pneumatic Systems:
Pneumatics is the science of producing, controlling, and utilizing compressed air in industry. In pneumatic systems, compressed air is first stored in a tank at a specific pressure, which is then considered the driving force of the system. Ambient air contains moisture and impurities, which make it unsuitable for use in pneumatic systems. To remove moisture, the air is passed through sodium hydroxide absorbers, and to separate suspended particles, filters are used.
After preparing the ideal air, its pressure is increased by compressors to reach the nominal operating pressure. Most compressors used in pneumatic systems are of the piston type, which can provide a wide range of required pressures (from a few bars up to several thousand bars).

After producing compressed air with a compressor, it must be delivered to the end user. The transfer of compressed air from the compressor to the consumer is carried out through piping. These pipes can be metallic (galvanized iron, stainless steel, copper, or aluminum) or non-metallic (polyethylene, polyamide, and polyurethane hoses). The fittings used for piping and creating the desired branches can be permanent (double ferrule fittings) or temporary (quick couplings). Additionally, pneumatic valves are used for isolation, connection and disconnection, and safety purposes.

Finally, the compressed air reaches the pneumatic actuator, which converts the energy of the compressed air into mechanical energy. Pneumatic actuators can include pneumatic motors, pneumatic valves, pneumatic jacks, cylinders, and more. Since the required pressure may vary for each pneumatic device, the use of pressure regulators is indispensable. The input pressure to the regulator is the line pressure, while the output pressure is adjusted to the required pressure of the pneumatic load.
